Update on dancing in the Moomba 2018 Parade
12 January, 2018
Congratulations to all the newly registered dancers being offered a place in the DanceSport Moomba 2018 team! Here is an a brief update on where we are at with this great event.
Massive response – biggest ever
The response has exceeded all our expectations. We were planning on getting no more than 60 but we have had over 100 people register interest from across Melbourne and regional Victoria. You can check a Google Map of where the registrations by town and suburb. As a result, we have adjusted our plan to make sure we will do our best to try to accommodate as many people as possible.
Two dance teams – north and south east
In order to make the DanceSport Moomba Parade 2018 as accessible to everyone, we are spiting the group into two teams. One team will train at a studio in the north of Melbourne, the other will rain in the south east of Melbourne. We shall be confirming this by next week.
Training times – looking like Saturday and/or Sunday mornings
We are still in the process of confirming this however it is looking like training will be starting weekly for 5 weeks on Saturday or Sundays from February 3. The sessions will be 1.5 hours and kick off from morning to mid day. We will also have a full Moomba rehearsal on Sunday March 11 for all parade participants.
Need more of contact details – phone and year born
In order to help us coordinate this large event, we need your phone number and the year you where born. This will allow us to call you if we need talk through details. Getting an idea of age will help us work out the structure of the parade formation.
